Survival of the fittest

Ok I'm sure I'm not the first one to realize this, but my husband and I were pondering this very thought this morning on our morning commute.

We've heard and been saying "survival of the fittest" most of our educational life. I really hadn't given much thought to it until recently. Then it occurred to me. This phrase is grammatically incorrect. Shouldn't it be survival of the most fit?

I'm just saying.

Please ....someone set me straight and correct me if I'm wrong. Because now it bugs me.

Weird night at the gym

Ok so I go to the gym tonight for my aerobics class. But there is just weird people and energy there tonight. A lot of the regulars are not there but in their place are these awesome parade of nutty society.

First off...there are these 2 guys in their 60's that are there 3 times a week without fail. I never really gave it much thought,. Just thought they were just pastey old white guys that liked water aerobics. I mean I realize it isn't really the most "manly" of workouts, but I can keep an open mind. They have always been nice, but not all that talkative. Well tonight the instructor (who I have grown to love) asked if we had and requests for music. Apparently thats all that it took for the flood gates to open. Both of them about worked themselves into a lather (literally) jumping up and down while doing a little clap. All the while screaming ....CHER!!!!

I stood there amazed. Usually my "Queen" detector goes off the moment we meet. But these two totally got past my advanced radar. I had to giggle to myself. Mind you I am not laughing at them (all you sensitive nellies out there) I was laughing at the situation.

So there was that. Then there was this other couple where the guy was at least in his mid to late 30's and his girlfriend/wife looked to be about 19 or 20. She went along and did the aerobics class while he paced along the concrete of the pool, barely taking his eyes off her. He just gave off the jealous vibe like he was waiting for her to talk to someone just so that he could get on her about that. For a minute I sort of felt sorry for her thinking "wow that must really suck to be with someone so oppressive" Then I saw her get dressed after the class in a 3 sized too small halter tank top. With glitter writing on the front that said "Buy me stuff". Then it became abundantly clear who these people were. That little show of control was just one of their games. People like this bug me.

Look I know I am not perfect.Trust me I don't even sort of claim to be.

I'm just relaying some good times at the gym.

awesome quotes

Ok so normally I put these in a nice little box off to the right here >>>>>

But today I have to get more than one and I didn't want them to get swept under the rug and not properly acknowledged.

All of them are classic Groucho Marx . Which C'mon!! Classic humor is way better than most of the drek you find today. And with that I give you some of the best one liners.

Behind every successful man is a woman, behind her is his wife.

Marriage is a wonderful institution, but who wants to live in an institution?

I remember the first time I had sex - I kept the receipt.

Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others.

mmmmmmmmmm!

Fall is by far my favorite time of year. But another one of my favorites is the first taste of eggnog of the season. I LOVE eggnog. You would think that after working at Starbucks I would be burned out on the taste or especially the smell. Which by about January I am. But for now I will drink it straight out of the carton and cream my coffee with it. This morning, every sip of my coffee I can't help but say out loud how good it is. Finally Bug (Tactful as he is) says "alright you love it...we get it. Now enough already!!" It totally made me laugh. Not because my kid is speaking to adults like that,(because that is a whole issue unto itself that may receive it's own blog post one day) but it made me laugh because I had already drank 2 full cups of coffee and probably made a comment with each sip. That WOULD be annoying. Duly noted.

"Sorry buddy. I'll lay off the "Bask in the glory of Eggnog!" talk.....But I mean really....have you tried this? I think it's better this year that it was last year. This is soooooo good!!!!"

Ok......I can hear your eyes rolling!!

Jaxon five....

Ok so I had someone ask "what is up with the name?" It seemed pretty explanatory, but let me break it down.

My name is Jaqui, but was nicknamed "Jackson" by my dearly departed Grandpa. It was one of the many nicknames I had over the years. It was one of the only ones I liked.

Skip ahead 15 or so years and I had a great friend in college (whom I am still close with, in fact he introduced me to my husband, but thats a pretty funny story for another time) that one day started calling me Jax. For whatever reason...it just stuck and that circle of friends still call me Jax to this day.

So it's sort of a combination of the two.

Five....well...figure it out :)

I just wanted to clarify..We are blond, blue eyed and above all....LILLY WHITE!!!

This is us....

Not to be confused with them...in case you were :)

Just getting started in here....

Hello. Is anybody out there? Well this is an attempt at my very first blog post. I've never really done anything like this before. But I have become addicted to myspace so I figured this can't be all that different :) As mentioned in my about me section....I'm a mother of 3 maniacs. Currently I'm playing the role of bad mommy and they have been glued to Nick Jr. most of the morning. As I am becoming obsessed with putting this blog together.
I really don't have much time to sit down and write this out, but here I am :) I just stared selling Tupperware and tonight is my first party that I'm doing all by myself. So naturally I'm terrified. As if the pressure of having people over to your house wasn't enough stress, what with the cleaning and the hiding of toys, then there is the fear of public speaking. Those of you that know me, would think that public speaking may come naturally (as I have a very big mouth that rarely stops to draw breath) but it totally freaks me out.
But before all of that, I have to meet with my 6 yr. old's teacher. Of course the day I have to plan out all this Tupperware stuff is the day that parent teacher conferences fall on. Which means I have to drop off my kids with somebody, go get my husband from work and then hear all the horrors about how my perfect little angel had terrorized all the other kids into tears. It has already been a rough school year and we are only into October. but thats another post on it's own.
But for now....it's 11 am....and I still haven't gotten a shower. My window of opportunity is running out as the baby will be up from his nap soon. So until next time....

Who liknks to me? Ask me how....just kidding. Just click here.
