Hours of entertainment

Yes I am aware that I have the humor of a 12 year old and the attention span of a gnat. But dang it all if this isn't the most entertaining way to spend an evening with my kids.

To give a little background, I got this new Macbook that has a program in it called photo booth. It just has a camera in the computer and all these dumb effects that you can play with. My kids and I can play with these silly fun house effects for hours. We get to laughing so hard it is a little ridiculous. But really fun at the same time.

Here's just a small sample of what Bug and I spent almost an hour doing tonight.

For the last 3 of you...

Ok for the last 3 people left that have not seen this video, you have to watch it. If you know us, we are total mushy sissy la-las when it comes to animal stuff so needless to say we REALLY like this story.

Jason's hike.

Here's a hike Jason took a week ago.

It's a hike called "Angel's Rest."

It was really windy and cold, but well worth it.

Here's a slide show from it:

Remember when toys were made to last?

Yeah me neither. Most of my toys when I was growing up in the 70's and 80's were cheap plastic from China that was soft and would probably be banned now. But I had my fun and lived to see another day. No harm done.

Today I was cleaning out my garage because we have lived here 8 years and never once parked anything in this garage. Really I could have my fantasized craft room out there if I would just get out there and (light a match to the works) clean some junk out. I stumbled onto all my old Barbies. Boy the hand of time has not been kind to her. What is funny is I have all my Mom's Barbies too and hers look great. I mean they are from the 50's so they look old, but mine that were made in the late 70's or so, all the plastic is soft and sticky feeling. Also the hair has like fused together into a giant dread lock.

My favorite though was my country western Barbie. Did any of you have one of these little gems? She came in a white western-esq jumpsuit with fringe on the sleeves as was the style at the time. She had white go-go/cowgirl boots and a giant Tammy Wynette hairdo. She was awesome!! But the best thing about her and her big selling feature was that she had a button on her back that when pushed, she winked her awesome blue eye shadowed eye. I thought this was so cool.

Well, poor Barbie sort of got outgrown and stuck in a box. She has spent many summers in that box and I am sure the heat just eventually got to her. When I pulled her out today, she resembled a sort of hot mess of a zombie barbie with a part melted eyelid. It was sort sad and hilarious at the same time. I couldn't help myself and I had to document this train wreck.

For what ever reason it cracked me up. Enjoy the horror!

Twilight dvd release party

So last night was the big Twilight dvd release party. The Dvd was going to be released for sale at midnight and we had been following along on the news that people started lining up at 3 in the afternoon to secure their purchase. I mean I know I have a serious problem but there are some super freaky Twilight fans out there. I hate to speak ill of my brethren and all, but wow.

We have been scouting out where we were going to go as there were many options . But we (my friends and I) settled on the Wood Village Walmart. A couple of the actors from the movie were going to be there and signing autographs.

These people here....

The waitress from the Carver cafe.

The little girl that played "young Bella" in the home video in the ballet studio.

And best of all 2 of the guys from the wolf pack/Quillute tribe.

So my friends Molly, Erin and I set out for our hot night on the town.

We got to the Walmart around 9. There was already a line and a lot of buzz in the store. Now nothing was happening until midnight. But already the place was packed. So we went through these giant cattle fence to keep the peace I guess. By the way, it should be noted that all this took place in the garden center which is in fact outside. Once we got in position we had nothing to do but wait in anticipation. My pictures didn't really turn out very well, but this was our view for over 2 hours.

Not all that exciting although it was mostly teenage girls and their mothers. So if one of them got over excited they would just start screaming and because dumb celebrity fever catches like wildfire with this demographic, if one starts screaming, they all start screaming (half the time they didn't even know what they were screaming about) It was a pretty funny sociology study.

We discovered that they were herding everyone in to the signing area in groups of 40. Also that the "celebrities" were leaving at midnight. We found this out 2 hours into waiting in line. We had a good 500 people in front of us and an hour left. There was no way that we would make it in. So we jumped ship and just went into the store to wait until the strike of midnight when we could just buy the dvd and get home.

Once inside we realized that they were set up in the middle of the store and we could see what was going on, we just couldn't get anything signed. We were all fine with that. So I got as close as I could to get a couple pictures. Again, they weren't the best but I was not really allowed to stop to take a picture they made us keep moving at all times. You would think that Elvis was in the building. It was sort of silly. I mean it's not like it was Rob Pattinson or anything it was not even the secondary characters. It was more like the 5th string of actors. But they got an extention of their 15 minutes of fame and felt like total rockstars for the night. Even though it was in a Gresham area Walmart.
Anyhow, these are the pictures that I got inside.

This is the table that they would be sitting at. Exciting no?

This is the nutty fans getting all their crap signed. I could barely get close enough to take a picture so all you really see it the fans.

This is the best I could do. The rest were so blurry that you couldn't even see who it was.

Thats right, if you look closely, it is in fact a Twilight cake. Sure, why not.

Then the clock struck Midnight and the cashiers got flooded with the masses. The poor cashiers looked truly terrified. I guess I would be too if I looked out to a sea of crazed lunatics knowing there may not be enough Dvds for everyone. But it all worked out in the end. I made it through the line and had a big happy ending

Having trouble getting your kids to eat their veggies?

I may have a solution. The power juicer. Now I know this is not something new. These have been around for a long time.

Actually in all honesty, I don't have a problem getting my kids to eat veggies. They love them. Bug especially. He will take a plate of broccoli to a plate of chips any day. It is very bizarre, but hey, there are worse problems.

We have had this juicer for a couple years and use it on average about once a week. Year round. no exceptions. It really was the best investment.

Anyhow, I thought I would document this claim and back it up with pictures this time.

Behold....a giant bowl of produce. In this bowl is 2 lbs of spinach, about a lb of broccoli, about 5 lbs of carrots, a pineapple, apples and a pint of strawberries.

Then you run it through your handy dandy juicer.

The result....

Two thumbs agree.... green sludge chased with some fruit = AWESOME!!

A green mustache would not lie.

Only 2 more days!! I can hardly contain myself!!

In case you live under a rock, the Twilight DVD comes out in 2 days.

Here's my own private reason to live. A deleted scene from the bonus disc. I am most excited for the behind the scenes stuff and the commentary. Why you may ask, because I am a giant Twerd!

My friends and I are going to go to a midnight release party and battle it out amongst the glittered up teenagers. Can't hardly wait!! Don't worry, there will be pictures.

Show your work!!

Did you ever get the feeling that sometimes you were being talked down to in school? I remember that feeling completely in school. Almost like a "gee how dumb do they think kids are?" feeling. I see my son not only feels this, but has a sarcastic (smart mouth) streak to him.

I don't know where he gets this.

I half expected to see a "Duh" after the "look".

My life in a fog.

So this morning I had to man up and get in to the dentist to take care of a wisdom tooth that had been giving me some trouble for literally 9 years. I had every intention of taking care of it back then when it reared it's ugly head. I made an appointment to get all 4 pulled all at once. Soon after I made the appointment I realized that I was pregnant with Bug. So clearly it had to take the back burner. Then it seemed that attention to my wisdom teeth seemed to be the (kiss of death) signal the universe was waiting for to knock me up again. So to sum it up, it took me 9 years to get this taken care of.
So I got in and did it. Whatever. The wisdom teeth themselves were not that big of a deal. It was the other things the dentist decided to take care of once he got me in there that turned painful and problematic. He thought that since we already had some good drugs on board, then he may as well take care of a pesky tooth that needed a root canal too. Not one, but two.
So luckily out of this deal I got some awesome narcotics to enjoy for the next couple of days. Good times.

So I came home and parked it on the couch and listened to some talk radio on the laptop. I soon noticed that the sun was really bright coming through the window. In a fit of annoyance I did away with the curtains on those window some time back. So I did what any spaz under the influence of the junk would do. I laid on the couch in my living room with my sunglasses on. Such a dork.
What is funny about this though is that I didn't really think about just how silly it was until I saw my reflection in the screen of my computer. I then realized that I had to document this moment as a sort of PSA .
Stay off drugs kids! You can't fly if you're high!!

How I really looked.

How I felt.

It's almost here!!!

Ok I know I am a big fat dork, but I am practically vibrating in my seat because we only have 15 days left until the Twilight DVD comes out. I am already planning out which release party to go to. Why, because I am a big dork. (Aren't you paying attention?)

In the meantime, this made me laugh.

Mostly because if you have seen the original trailer as many times as I have, you would get the joke.
Quit trying to act cool, I know you have watched it over and over again too.

Who liknks to me? Ask me how....just kidding. Just click here.
