Ok so I know my life is a seemingly endless supply of random events and thought. I am one of those freak deep thinkers that can ponder the dumbest things at any given time. It drives my husband nuts. It never fails. He will be trying to fall asleep when I come up with some stupid thing that has been plaguing me. Like should people who are deaf and use sign language be able to play charades? It just seems like they would have an unfair advantage. Or what is the exact make up of a peach pit? It feels like wood. Is it? Or what is it that allows cats to be able to purr? They have almost identical organs as dogs, but dogs can't purr. What is that about?
Seriously.
There may be something wrong with me.
I can't seem to help myself. On top of that I can't seem to keep these thoughts to myself. Thank goodness for the internet or I would be a mess :) I actually have a notebook that I started when I was in middle school of questions I plan on asking God when I get to Heaven. It turns out my parents grew tired of answering my stupid questions too.
Well in the true spirit of my natural curiosity, it should come as no surprise that I love to people watch. It is seriously one of my weirdest pastimes. When I was a kid I spent hours in airports by myself just watching people come and go, say good-byes and reunite. It was a weird little window into people's lives. I would see couples run to each other with flowers and embrace and I would see mothers put their kids on an airplane and cry as the plane pulled away from the gate. People do all sorts of weird things when they think nobody is watching. I to this day have a bizarre love of airports because of my strange childhood in an airport. The smell of recycled air is really comforting.
My fascination with people has brought me back to the mall. I spent my late teens and the better part of my twenties working in a mall. So it should surprise no one that I am back again mainly for the sociology study. I am working at a Tupperware kiosk. I don't get paid a dime, but I do get sales credit for everything I sell there. So in short, on a good night I might make $20. I won't see that money for at least a month, maybe longer. I however am not there for the money by any means. I am there because I can work at night when the kids are in bed, and I get uninterrupted time to gawk at all the weirdos that walk the mall. Also, I have the chance to read a book that doesn't have pictures. And I get to talk to new people.
I started working there about 9 months ago and I immediately started bringing a notebook to jot down all the observation about the people I saw.I wanted to remember all the stories so that I could share them with my husband when I got home. I thought I would start sharing them with all 4 of you that read my blog.
1.)*Parents carrying a (what looks to be)4 year old twins through the mall. Note-they also still have binkies.
Ok look, I had kids that did the binkie thing. I know it is hard to break the habit, but they are too old to be walking around in public with a binkie in. At least keep it hidden as the dark "mommy secret" that it can be. Now as for carrying two four year old kids through the mall....those kids are playing you. They can walk on their own. Quit trying to keep them babies and just let them grow up to be kids. Not eternal babies.
2.)*I am really glad I am no longer a teenager. Both boys and girls do really obnoxious things to get each others attention.
I felt like Jane Goodall observing the mating/courting rituals of the North American teenager.
3.)*Why do women insist on wearing white pumps after Labor day?!!
Ok I don't mean to go all serial mom here, but ladies, c'mon!! Style has not changed!! It's tacky. Your mother would be ashamed because you KNOW she taught you better.
4.)* Emo style is throwing off my Gay-dar.
For those of you who don't know what Emo is, it is sort of that punk inspired fashion that all the kids are sporting. The boys and girls are beginning to get harder to tell apart. Look, I am all for changing fashion, I'm not so old that I don't remember what it was like to rebel with what you wear just to get your parents goat. But seriously guys, I have some pretty fine tuned gay-dar. I can usually tell what side you bread is buttered within the first couple of glances. It's a gift. But it throws me off when I see the boys with the crazy "pretty hair" and the eye make-up. It's like a cell phone in an airplane. My navigation devices get all nutty.
I do have much, much more, but I think I will save it for another post. I could go on and on. People are weird. But interesting.

Making cookies with Sunshine
So it has been rainy and crummy all afternoon and really cold all of a sudden. It felt like a good cookie making day. Sunshine has been under my feet most of the day trying to "help me". So I decided I would let her help me make up some cookies. I had a mean craving for some peanut butter cookies, so that is what we made.
She pulled out her little Tupperware bake set (shameless I know) and made a batch all by herself.
I helped her with the mixer only because it has 2 speeds. Warp speed and Mach 5. It is a nice mixer, but it would tear a finger off if given the chance.Although she didn't seem to mind not being able to use it so long as she got to lick the beaters.
She couldn't handle just putting them in and walking away. She proudly watched her batch and see her little criss cross cookies cook.
Then just when watching the cookies bake in the oven got boring, she took on the thrilling job of making sure the timer was working. Turns out it is.
Nothing too thrilling, just a little slice of my life today.

Ok I swore I'd never do this....
I know I swore I'd never do this, but desperate times and all.....
I have been selling Tupperware for almost a year. For those of you who know me, know I am Tupperware fanatic from way back. My mom sold it when I was young and my Grandma still sells it now. I grew up with a weird love for all things indestructible and burping. I started selling it mainly to fuel my obsession and get a discount. But I have never been one for public speaking. I really am not all that great at presentation. I have just been content with sitting back and letting those who knew I sold it to come to me for orders. I don't like pimping out my wares door to door.
But after doing parties for friends and family, I have found that I am coming to the end of my rein of the Queen of Tupperware. I have until August 28th to put in an order or else I am going to go inactive. Which means I can't sell it anymore.
So....here's my desperate plea.....if you have the burning desire to own the finest in plastic products that last a lifetime (and if they don't let me know because they do have a lifetime guarantee and will be replaced no questions asked) now would be a great time to put in an order.
I have a little blinking icon on my side bar that takes you directly to my website. Or if you are in my inner circle and have my phone number, give me a call.
Like I said, I have until August 28th. Any little bit helps.
Thank you.
I promise I will never peddle myself on here again a la Jerry Lewis telethon style. I figured it couldn't hurt to throw up the the bat signal just in case there was someone out there who was dyeing for a complete set of modular mates to organize their pantry, but just didn't know who to turn to for such help.
I am here to help!

Thank you !! Thank you!! Thank you!!!

So as many of you may know....my range has been broken for about 3 weeks now. It was under warrenty and the repair guy came out a couple weeks ago and told me that we had electrical issues in our house and that there was no problem with the stove itself so he couldn't fix the problem.
Great.
Now as many of you are in the same boat as I am...being a stay at home mom comes with a few snags. Mainly that we (all 5 of us) have to budget really tight and live on one income. So really we live pretty paycheck to paycheck. Things like home repairs really throw us for a loop. The trade off....sometimes we have to wait a while to take care of repairs like this.
Which if you have ever been without a means to cook...gets really frustrating. I have been making all of our meals for the past 3 weeks in the microwave. Which if you have been playing the home game, you know that we don't do processesed food. So we have been doing a whole lot of sandwiches, steamed veggies , and pasta.
I think now would be the perfect time to sing the praises of Tupperware's line of microwave cookware. Never have I been so dependent on microwave cookware before, but it really was and is fantastic. To find out more click on my Tupperware icon on the side bar. See Rock n serve or heat n serve. Also I used the Tupperwave stack cooker alot.
Ok enough shameless advertisment.
Anyhoo....so we were fortunate enough to have a guy in our church that is an all around handyman. He has helped us with several fixes around our house over the years.(We are completly clueless homeowners. It's pretty embarassing, but it really is true) My husband just happened to run into him last week at my Father in law's Superbowl party. He explained what the problem was and he said he'd like to come out and take a look for us. So today was the day. He had a look at it and said it was a quick fix. We had cords that had somehow melted together and shorted out. He said that he has never seen that happen before, but it took him all of 20 minutes to have us back in business.
The best thing is. He didn't charge us one penny. I tried to pay him, but he refused anything. I am so thankful to have such an awesome church family that truly helps each other and shows God's love in practical ways. I know his time is valuable and he works by the hour. I only hope that someday we can return the kindness.
So yay!! We're having lasagne tonight!! No more microwave food for us!!
And as a side note....keep your eyes peeled Lee, you've got some Tupperware filled with cookies coming your way :)

Perpetual motion.......
So I had my first Tupperware party last night. I sort of stumbled my way through it but made the best of it. I had 3 people come. Two of which were related to me. They helped me through and we made the most of it. My Mom was there and she prodded me through the sales speech. Which in my mind was the worst part.I seem to have a hard time thinking people don't know all the great things Tupperware is and does. It really is the greatest invention next to the slinky. I assume everyone has grown up with the obsession of Tupperware ingrained in their DNA as mine was. My mom sold Tupperware off and on while I was growing up. Then my Grandma (Dad's side) still sells it now. Has for years. So most holidays Tupperware was always on the wish list. My mom and I have joked for years about how she has spent most of her adult life building up this truly outstanding collection. All her bowls nest, and everything in her pantry has been modular mated. Everything has it's place. She's a tough act to follow, I'll tell you that. So anyway it's been the running joke with us that there's no inheritance money, but the Tupperware is all mine.
So anyhoo...the skinny of it is the party last night went well. A good time was had by all.
Then there was today......
I for some reason thought it would be a great idea to schedule a 9 am Tupperware party for my mother in law. It seemed like such a good idea.... which meant I had to get everybody (kids) up, dressed, fed and quieted down and watching something mellow so that my husband would be able to wake up early on a Saturday (his only day to sleep in) and watch them. Along with me showered, out the door and in my mother in law's living room setting up at 8:30. Did I mention this SEEMED like a good idea? Once I got about 3 pots of coffee in me, I kind of got into my groove. The party went well, although we were in the middle of an autumn wind storm and the power went out about 10 minutes before I was about to give my big sales speech. Thanks to my trusty father in law, we had plenty of Coleman lanterns available. So I gave a Tupperware party entirely by propane lantern :) There could be worse things I guess.
Then later this afternoon, my daughter , Sunshine was invited to one of her friend's birthday parties. We pained cookies, and played with balloons. We had a good time. I think I enjoyed it the most. I forget what it's like to be around other moms. I really miss it. I need to find something where I can get out of the house more. I'm starting to get a little isolated. I used to go to a morning bible study at my last church, but since we started going to a new one, I just haven't really gotten connected yet. Maybe I'll make a bigger effort. Tomorrows Sunday. I'll nose around and see what I can find as far as groups or something. If I can't find anything,...maybe I'll just need to start something. Maybe that's why God put us at this church. Who knows.
Ok long day...time to read a good book in a undersized bathtub.

Just getting started in here....
Hello. Is anybody out there? Well this is an attempt at my very first blog post. I've never really done anything like this before. But I have become addicted to myspace so I figured this can't be all that different :) As mentioned in my about me section....I'm a mother of 3 maniacs. Currently I'm playing the role of bad mommy and they have been glued to Nick Jr. most of the morning. As I am becoming obsessed with putting this blog together.
I really don't have much time to sit down and write this out, but here I am :) I just stared selling Tupperware and tonight is my first party that I'm doing all by myself. So naturally I'm terrified. As if the pressure of having people over to your house wasn't enough stress, what with the cleaning and the hiding of toys, then there is the fear of public speaking. Those of you that know me, would think that public speaking may come naturally (as I have a very big mouth that rarely stops to draw breath) but it totally freaks me out.
But before all of that, I have to meet with my 6 yr. old's teacher. Of course the day I have to plan out all this Tupperware stuff is the day that parent teacher conferences fall on. Which means I have to drop off my kids with somebody, go get my husband from work and then hear all the horrors about how my perfect little angel had terrorized all the other kids into tears. It has already been a rough school year and we are only into October. but thats another post on it's own.
But for now....it's 11 am....and I still haven't gotten a shower. My window of opportunity is running out as the baby will be up from his nap soon. So until next time....
