And then came the green beans....

So to follow in the obsession......today was dilly bean day. I think I may have a problem here :)

Check these beauties out though I mean c'mon!! It may be too bold to just come right out and say it, but shucks, I am going to do it anyway....I RULE!!!!

Also in other news, but totally related to the above and past couple days.....something I have suspected for quite sometime. It turns out I would make an awesome 1930's housewife. Who knew? See if you can beat me score.

As a 1930s wife, I am

Take the test!

I saw your comment on Mommy Confessions, and wandered over here. I love how you canned your fruit and veggies. I have access to a ton of great fruit here in CA, but am a dork, and can't figure out how to can. How did you learn-can you recommend a book?

But I'm not as superior as those green beans. Those things rule.

What'd we end up eating last night? A can and a half?

I scored a 32! I'm a poor wife! Sad thing is, there weren't many things I'm willing to change.
Nancy - my login isn't working for some reason! I hate technology sometimes.

I learned how to can by just getting in and doing it. My mom and Grandma did it every summer, so it just was a natural progression for me.

There is a book called the "Bell blue book" It is the canning and preserving bible and all you need to know on how to do it. It has recipes for almost every fruit and vegetable and how to's.

Hi there...maybe I should read things before I post them. I meant to say Ball blue book. Not Bell. Ball is the company that makes the jars. Sort of like Mason.
Ok I can sleep better tonight.

Wow I am really impressed!! This is on my ever so long to do list of things to try.
Where do you go for your veggies and fruit?

I go to local farmers and fruit stands all over around me. They are around you just have to look for them.
Although we have done u-picks too.

Google "u pick". you fill find all sorts of wonders in your area. A lot of those places have ready picked too.

Hello! I found your blog through Shanna who commented on my blog and I totally don't normally do this, but I just had to say hi because - HELLO! You and I are like the same person - almost. I can't can fruits and veggies and, though I haven't taken the test, I'm pretty sure 1930s housewife I am not. BUT, I'm turning 33 next week, I married my husband after a proposal over the phone after knowing him for one month, and he is a rockstar drummer! CRAZY! I also have three kids - two girls and one boy.

I thought I was the only crazy/lucky girl out there. I was wrong.

Who liknks to me? Ask me how....just kidding. Just click here.
